This Portland beer festival features more than 50 different *lagers. Both regional and international lagers will be featured.
*What is a Lager?
“Lager (German: storage) is a type of beer that is fermented and conditioned at low temperatures. It may be pale, golden, amber, or dark.
Pale lager is the most widely consumed and commercially available style of beer in the world. Pilsner, Bock, Märzen, and Vienna, are all styles of lager. Dark lagers include Dunkel and Schwarzbier.” — Wikipedia www.wikipedia.org/Lager

2015 Portland International Beerfest Preview By John Lovegrove
The 2014 Portland International Beerfest was one of my festival highlights of last year. A return to their original Holladay Park location (next to Lloyd Center MAX) was fantastic, and they’re at Holladay Park again this year.
The beer lineup last year was incredible. Not only some rare and unusual beers from overseas, there was an impressive selection of Oregon and American barleywines, quads and barrel aged beers, more than any other festival in Portland I can recall.
With temperatures reaching 100 this weekend, some solid beers from around the world are just what you need to cool off.
Before I get to the beers, I HIGHLY recommend buying your tickets in advance. Their online “Big Deal” is $35 for the glass and 30 tickets. If you show up at the gate, it’s $25 for glass and 10 tickets, so a $10 savings.
As with many festivals, it’s a 4oz pour – but depending on the beer it’s 1 to 7 tickets per sample. Some of the best beers are in the lower 1-3 ticket range. Last year I splashed out on a couple of 7 ticket beers.
With over 200 beers lined up, it’s a daunting task to narrow down your options. I tend to stick with the draft options, as many of the bottles are available at various times of the year at the better bottle stores around town.
Here are 20 beers that I am particularly looking forward to:
